aircraftconcept.com – AeroMobil 3.0 is a flying car concept developed and produced by the Slovak company AeroMobil. This car can be used on roads and in the air, and can take off and land using strips of grass or paved surfaces. The AeroMobil 3.0 Flying Car prototype was launched at the Pioneers festival in Vienna, Austria, in October 2014. The flight testing program in real flight conditions began in October 2014. AeroMobil expects to get European certification in accordance with existing car and aircraft regulatory requirements for small series cars M1 and light sport aircraft (LSA).

The sophisticated AeroMobil 3.0 prototype was designed jointly by Klein and Juraj Vaculik, with development and construction completed ten months after the release of version 2.5 in 2013. AeroMobil 3.0 incorporates substantial progress and improvements to the pre-prototype AeroMobil 2.5, which is certified by the Slovak Federation of Ultra Ultra Flying Minor (SFUL) after authorization issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Slovak Republic.

AeroMobil 3.0 shells, wings and wheels are built using steel frames and carbon seams. It has wings that can be folded with varying angle of attack reducing takeoff requirements and increasing performance. This flying car is equipped with a sturdy suspension feature that allows takeoff and landing on rough terrain.

The AeroMobil 3.0 flying car has dimensions similar to a large limousine or luxury sedan, so it can be easily parked in an ordinary parking lot. The overall dimensions of the car include a length of 6 m and a width of 8.32 m when the wings open and 2.24 m when folded. The empty weight of the car is around 600 kg.

AeroMobil 3.0 is powered by a liquid and air-cooled four-cylinder Rotax 912 engine that can produce around 75 kW (100hp) power. This flying car burns standard gasoline and consumes 15 l of fuel per hour in flight mode and 8 l per 100 km when driving on the road. It can refuel at regular gas stations.

AeroMobil 3.0 can go with a maximum speed of 200 km/ h in the air and 160 km/ h on the road. It can cover a maximum range of 700 km in the air and 875 km on the road.

AeroMobil 3.0 Price

AeroMobil 3.0 Flying Car will be sold at the same price as a sports car or lightweight sports aircraft, which is around "several hundred thousand Euros." AeroMobil plans to sell 500 flying cars in its first launch. But this car must pass a number of tests again before fully operational.
